Supervision & Training Support

As someone that returned to school to pursue a doctoral degree after having worked for about 10 years, Dr. Parlor can appreciate a variety of doctoral student needs. As a credentialed member of faculty at her most recent job, she provided a developmental style of supervision and support to psychology interns and psychiatry residents. Additionally, as a self-identified Black American woman, Dr. Parlor can provide support with workplace dynamics through cultural and multidimensional perspectives.

Who is This For

Internship level (and above) psychology graduate students and psychiatry residents (2nd year and above from communities of color and diverse populations, specifically those who identify as Black/African-American, BIPOC and women.

Sessions Offered

  • 60 minute individual session

  • 75 minute group session (max 3 people)

Offered on an as needed basis or as an ongoing weekly engagement to introduce and/or to enhance CBT knowledge and clinical skills (e.g. Challenges such as: instances of acting out, set-backs, impasses in patient treatment progress, sophisticated risk assessment, integrated cultural conceptualization) with the goal of facilitating their increased effectiveness as a therapist towards positive treatment outcomes. Sessions can also focus on professional development, imposter syndrome, colleague relationship dynamics involving issues of diversity (e.g. gender, racial, SES identity/expression in the work setting); incorporates principles of developmental supervision and mentorship.
